Very many years have passed since the late C A House wrote Inbreeding, which was to become one of the best sellers among all livestock books. Very many thousands of copies have been sold, and thirteen editions published. Mr House in his day was recognized as an authority on the principles of breeding, he was a leading all-round judge, and ranked high among Fancy journalists.

After his death I revised inbreeding, and now there is to be published the third edition of PRACTICAL INBREEDING, which succeeded House’s treatise. It covers all the points made by my old colleague in his book and much additional material founded on my own study and experience of inbreeding, and lessons learned from modem thought on this subject, which no breeder of livestock can afford to ignore.
